Contactless Intelligence Weekly News Review - Calendar Week 15

The Industry Choice Award voting is now open!

If you are reading this and you are a finalist in this year's Contactless & Mobile Awards, then the time has come to vote for your company, your product, your solution and everything is up for grabs! Like, share, tweet - make sure you spread the word and increase your chance to walk away with not one, but two awards at the end of the month. Personally, I love this award category in the Contactless & Mobile Awards. With it being out of the hands of the esteemed judges, and in the hands of social media reach, it reflects how much drive and determination exists within each company to win.

The nominees of this award are the finalists in the eleven categories outlined in this years CMAs plus 4 runner ups that the judges decided should be singled out for special recognition. These are nominees that the judges felt this year should have made it to the finals but for one reason or another were just pipped at the post. The additional four nominees are:

Ensygnia (UK) – Onescan (secure mobile payment service solution)
Všeobecná úverová banka (Slovakia) – VISA Inspire Wave 2 Pay (micro tags for mobile payment)
Barclays (UK) – PingIt (mobile application for money transfers)
Česká spořitelna (Czech Republic) – Contactless payment cards (highest average contactless spend in region)

The winner of this award will be voted for by the industry at large via our web poll. All companies mentioned here will be in the running, and the company that receives the most votes will win. Our advise? Get people in your office to register a vote, your friends, your family – the more the better your chances are to win. The only important thing to remember is that voting started this morning and will end at midnight on the 17th April. The other finalists are below as a reminder.

I really wanted to keep the focus of this week's editorial on the Industry Choice Awards but I do want mention a couple of video's that we have on our site at the moment. One is an OSPT update from Samsung Semiconductor's Jörg Suchy and another is an interesting interview given by Weve CEO, David Sear, who says that 70% of consumers want to pay with their mobile. If you disagree with this or would like to know more - you can ask him yourself when you see him at the Contactless Intelligence Spring Conference where he is speaking on “Navigating a fragmented market in mobile”.

A more normal editorial will resume next week, but until then - get voting!

Until next week.
