Dear Readers,
Only one more week to go and the Contactless Intelligence Spring Conference is upon us. As you may expect, we here at the Contactless Intelligence offices are working at a feverish pace (kind of…) to get everything in order and just right for the day.
We have a lot of speakers covering interesting and relevant topics, ranging from the question of security within contactless and NFC chips, modules and elements, to loyalty modules and the opening up of the whole market for tags and smart posters. We are talking about generally enriching the purchasing experience. We are also looking at the field of do-it-yourself tagging and will hopefully discover what it takes to build a great wallet service through mobile marketing. The afternoon will see working groups covering Tagging, Security, Social Media Campaigns, Wallet Partnerships and learning from the 2012 Olympics. Not to mention such cool items as a contactless vending machine - NFC fobs will be given out - and a really cool competition from O2! You can see a pre-curser to the machine in the video section on the right.
We will also be unveiling the winners of the Contactless & NFC Country League 2012. Announced by MasterCard's James Davlouros the conference attendees will be the first to learn who ranked number 1 in the League for the 2011-2012 season. The results may surprise you!
And if that wasn't enough - come the evening, we move over to the Contactless and Mobile Awards Show. We have 12 categories and some big names within those categories battling it out to claim the awards. Now, I'm not supposed to do this but I have seen some of the results that have been coming in and let me tell you - there are going to be some surprises on the night, some upsets and some fantastic winners! The winners are chosen by a panel of their peers from the industry so when we have a winner - we have a winner chosen by the industry - and that's a great thing! Enough of this now, I look forward to seeing you there on the night.
Until next week.
Steve Atkins

PS - We have as the lead video on the right, the new film from the OSPT Alliance. Shot in Barcelona during the Mobile World Congress this video gives the partners a chance to speak out about the Alliance and explain why they thing it is important for companies to get involved in the specification.
